A 10-year-old boy entered School No. 157 in Virrey del Pino, in the municipality of La Matanza, with a .22 caliber pistol. The minor brought the weapon in his backpack without his parents' consent. One of his classmates noticed the presence of the weapon and alerted the authorities at the educational institution.
In response to this incident, school authorities took immediate measures and filed the corresponding police report. They clarified to the families of the students that, despite the situation, the children were never in danger, as the pistol was not loaded and did not leave the boy's backpack.
Later, the police contacted the mother of the involved minor to inform her about what happened and request her presence at the local police station for the necessary legal proceedings. Prosecutor Juan Pablo InsĂșa from the Juvenile Criminal Liability Prosecutor's Office No. 2 of La Matanza ordered the seizure of the revolver to determine how it came into the boy's possession and its origin.
The case is under investigation for illicit acts; however, due to the boy's age, he cannot be charged. The minor's mother mentioned that the weapon was not functioning properly and came into the boy's hands through friends of the student's siblings.
The woman expressed her regret for what happened and stated that the weapon was useless. In her words: "I apologize a thousand times to all the people who felt affected by what happened."
